Nexon America has been hit with layoffs, with an unknown variety of staff affected.
As reported by Game Developer , the agency mentioned the redundancies would influence a „small quantity“ of staff. It clarified the choice was made following a restructuring plan introduced earlier this month.
„The re-organisation contains the elimination of a small variety of roles, with severance provided to these leaving,“ the corporate mentioned. „Nevertheless, Nexon America is now hiring to fill out the brand new growth group, together with engineers and designers.“
On September 3, Nexon president and CEO Junghun Lee and CFO Shiro Uemura introduced a mid-term progress technique for the agency.
This features a progress initiative and establishing the Western Growth Group in Los Angeles, led by Hanbyeol Oh.
This group is a part of its „hyperlocalisation“ technique, which can contain hiring groups to adapt video games „to match the tastes of native gamers“ in markets together with Europe and North America.
„We’re centralising our organisational construction round an IP progress initiative which might snowball progress inside our established IP and develop new blockbusters,“ mentioned Lee.
